Camorr - News and Views from Scott Lynch's Locke Lamora books

Go check out Pat's latest post over at the Pat's Fantasy Hotlist for the Republic of Thieves Blurb!

For those curious about the ever elusive publishing date of 'The Republic of Thieves', a date has been loosely suggested by the publishers: NOVEMBER 2011.

There's no guarantee that this is the final date, but at least we know the Feb 2011 is wrong. The final manuscript is still under revision, so it might be possible the book wont be released until next year.

I'm sure it will be worth the wait though! So good luck to all those involved in getting the book out!

Hi folks,

We're looking for new ideas to bring the site to life!

Mainly we want to increase engagement/participation on the site from our core folks. My first throughts are:

a) Group reading at a chapter a week through books 1 and 2

b) Weekly digest of new content on the site

c) Guest bloggers talking about and reviewing other fantasy authors work in a new Camorr Blog

Any other thoughts?

I'm very honoured (I'm British - I demand that 'u'!) to announce that Scott has kindly permitted us to post up an excerpt from his forthcoming novel.

In my haste to post it up for you guys to read, I haven't actually read it yet! I'll post my thoughts below as soon as I have done though.

Hello everyone!

I've just moved the whole site to a brand new platform "Drupal"!

All user accounts should have come across to the new platform, along with all of the old pages, forums, topics and comments. The new site isn't themed quite as nicely yet, but it should run a bit faster and has bags more functionality for us as we move forward.

Scott has finally posted it! The long awaited excerpt to the upcoming novel, The Republic Of Thieves!

This was entirely my fault as I removed 8000 spammers. I accidentally removed the anonymous user too, so if you weren't logged in via cookies you wouldn't have been able to see any of the board!

Camorr.com is approaching it's birthday!

Whilst news on the Gentlemen Bastard series has been slow going, we're proud to say our community has stuck around and been following what trickle there is with a voracious tenacity.

As a thank you, I'm looking at upgrading the website in a few ways and wanted to hear exactly what [b]you[/b] our community want.

It's been announced that, despite our finger-crossing and fervent hoping, Scott's upcoming novel The Republic Of Thieves has been pushed back to 03/06/2010. 

Gollancz has recently released a catalogue claiming it will be out in November, but I'd rubbish that claim. It said RoT would be out last summer, but obviously that didn't happen. Catalogues aren't always right, and considering the manuscript still hasn't been turned in, I'd go with what many websites are saying, which is the 2010 date. 

It's disappointing, but hardly surprising.
