The Lies of Locke Lamora
Vote for a retro edition of Lies!
Akaia Autumngold — Wed, 05/04/2011 - 00:28
The UK publisher of Lies, Gollancz, is having a competition to celebrate their 50th anniversary and they've included Lies in the list of titles. They're going to republish 10 of the readers' favourite Gollancz titles in retro-style collectible editions, and I'm dying to see what they would do with Lies!
I really wish I'd seen this sooner as voting is only open till the 15th of May - so get voting, people!!!

Sorry, but the question has been eating at me for a while. I couldn't decide between the two!
But, if you happen to have a preference, who and why?
Your Favourites

THIS THREAD WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS.
Okay, so it's a cliche kinda thread, but I think it's interesting! What are your favourite bits in Lies? Or your most memorable moments? (And don't say 'all of it' hehe ;-) )
For favourite funniest moment, I think the award goes to the part where Locke and Jean are clambering down a trellis and bump into a man climbing out a window. That whole scene had me in fits of giggles, especially when the man's cheating lover gets involved! Plus it has Jean kickin' ass, which is always a good thing.
Locke's real name

At the end of Lies, Locke tells Jean his real name. Obviously will become a plot device at some point. What do you think he said? (remember, Locke whispered five syllables)
I'll go first:

Plot Question

I was just rereading Lies again recently, and a point in the plot stuck out as odd to me.
The whole point of Locke's angle in the Salvara game was that the Salvaras would be in on the fact that he was conning them, but have no choice other than to go along with his requests due to the fake midnighter's instructions.
