There is somewhat of a negative atmosphere simply because Scott is going through such a hard time and the book seems to far away. As Toran said, we're hardly flaming the guy, we're his FANS for goodness sake! Why would we be in a forum to do a thing like that? By all means, contribute postively to the forum. We're all Lynch fans here :)

There's a whole bunch of other comments - in fact, basically EVERY other comment - is extremely supportive. I could list them, but I'd basically be listing the entire thread. Rest assured, if anyone posted anything nasty or disrspectful about Scott - or about anything in general - they would be immediately removed from the forum. It's difficult at the moment because there's been very little positive news to discuss, the most recent was the RoT excerpt back in october. Instead of lowering the mood even more with unwarranted criticism, why not start a discussion surrounding the books instead? :-) Fresh faces are always welcome.

To Feisty: I can see your point. Scott is a good author and a great guy, so it makes sense that you would want to defend him, and I respect you for it.
Truthfully, I am impatient for his new book. I'm human, it happens. However my appetite for his work has nothing to do with my sympathy for his problems and I am definitely not flaming or criticizing.
As to the literature suggestions you seem to find annoying- well, I'm sure we're all avid readers here. New and exciting books are part of our lifestyle, but I feel that I can speak for most of us when I say that there is no chance we'll miss Scott's next book :)
