Relgion in Locke's World
The Therin Religion
The primary religion on the Therin continent involves worshiping Twelve gods. There are various temples, rites and robes associated to each god, alongside the countless priest and initiates. There is also a Thirteenth god; the few that know and believe are involved in criminal activity, though many do not believe the deity exists. Chains’ described the Thirteenth as ‘a black-sheep younger brother of the Twelve… whose name is not allowed to be spoken or heard’.
Some of the names of all thirteen gods are yet to be mentioned, and while some names are stated their expertise is not revealed, nor their respective numeral in the list of thirteen. Here is the list as it stands:
Iono, Lord of the Grasping Waters, Stormbringer
Aza Guilla, Lady of the Long Silence, the Lady Most Kind
Gandolo, Father of Opportunities, Lord of Coin and Commerce
Morgante, the City Father, Lord of Noose and Trowel
Sendovani, unknown
Nara, Plague Mistress, Lady of Ubiquitous Maladies
Dama Elliza, unknown
Azri, unknown
Callo Androno, Eyes-on-the-Crossroads, god of travel, languages and lore.
Perelandro, Father of Mercies, Lord of the Overlooked
Nameless Thirteenth, Crooked Warden, the Theifwatcher, the Benefactor, Father of Necessary Pretexts
The Vadran Religion
Little is known about the specifics surrounding the Vadran religion, though they do have temples much like the Therin religion. Lynch describes the Vadran faith like this: Vadrans worship water, especially in the form of the "Seven Holy Marrows," or the seven major rivers that divide their kingdom into its traditional cantons.
