Not Quite Fantasy, but Close Enough for Government Work

Roland of Gilead — Fri, 10/31/2008 - 15:12

I'm finishing up newcomer John Drake's Flint and Silver. It's a prequel to Treasure Island, and shows how Long John Silver ended up as the character he was in Robert Louis Stevenson's classic.

If you like pirate yarns, it's quite good, although it certainly goes way beyond (in terms of sex, language and violence) what Stevenson ever did.

It's not available in the States yet, but once again, The Book Depository (free postage) came in handy for me. 8-)
