Locke Lamora Audiobooks

ravelle — Sat, 10/10/2009 - 01:14

I'm really enjoying the audiobooks available on audible.com (although I had to pretend to be American to get them!).

The narration by Michael Page is unbelievably good. Far better than nearly every other narrator I've heard (the sole exception that springs to mind is Stephen Fry in the Harry Potter books).

Anyone else enjoy listening to books in this way?

Well I have just finished

ravelle — Tue, 12/01/2009 - 10:43

Well I have just finished both. I cannot overstate how fantastic the narration is!

If you're thinking of reliving the tale so far, do it through these books - they're brilliant!

Thanks for such a snotty

Elfy — Sat, 12/05/2009 - 04:43

Thanks for such a snotty response. I should have read things a little more closely, sorry that my failure to do so incensed you so much.
I would like to know who Michael Page is and what else he’s done as I can’t find any information on him on the ‘net. A search reveals a job recruitment company, an English cricketer and an artist, none of whom would seem to be the narrator.

I have no idea who he is! I

Sabetha — Mon, 12/07/2009 - 16:13

I have no idea who he is! I actually confused him with Michael Palin for some reason, until I typed it into google. Maybe he's just a narrator, maybe even a stage actor?

Hi everyone! Can someone

Venetian Lady — Sat, 01/08/2011 - 00:08

Hi everyone!
Can someone answer to my questions, please?
Like I said "few" posts ago, I work in Italy as an actress, and sometimes i "gave" my voice to read audiobooks.
I send an e-mail to Scott Lynch but, as you can imagine,he never answered (i think he's very busy now, if not,
means that my english war very bad! :-p ).
I would like to know how can I do to contact someone who can permit me to read the italian version of the
audiobook in italian (here we don't have yet an audiobook of The lies of Locke Lamora)...
Do anyone of you knows how I have to do? Here in italy the editor refuse to publish the future episodes
of the saga, so they can't help me for the rights or the recording!

another question: about the translation of the book and the translaters: my boyfriend is a book translater...
Does the American editor choose by itself the translaters for the other countries? Someone can tell me how
he has to do to contact someone who can engage him for "Republic of Thieves" please?

Thank you for your kindness!
Venetian Lady

I know very little about how

Wilzo — Sat, 01/08/2011 - 12:07

I know very little about how the translating business works, or how it differs aroud the world, but from what I understand I think your boyfriend should probably contact the Italian publisher of the GB sequence, ask whether they intend to have Republic of Thieves translated (if that isn't certain yet) and then, I guess, just express his willingness to take the job. (Mind you, all this is based on what the Finnish translator of the Harry Potter series has said.)
There's a topic here (http://www.camorr.com/forum/lies-locke-lamora-translation-questions), maybe dawnglitters might be able to offer better advice?

Locke would appreciate it.

Wilzo thank you very much for

Venetian Lady — Sat, 01/08/2011 - 13:14

Wilzo thank you very much for your answer.
the problem is that here in italy now there's
no publisher for the books of Lynch, that's
why my boyfriend has some problems to
find the new book, also in English!!!
Anyway,we'll try to do the possible!
Thank you another time for your advices!
Have a nice day!
